Description:

“In 1992, Artur Budnitsky and I went to Kaunas to visit Henrikas Gulbinas, who had a video studio. We shot a film at Henrikas’ house during the evening. At Henrikas ‘ house, we made a movie that night. I had the idea to take the voices of artists Kalyagin and Muravyova from the movie “We met strangely…” and act with them, opening my mouth to the soundtrack. Picture and sound conflict. And one of us spoke in a female voice. Naturally, the film was immediately perceived as homosexual, and when I once again offer Arthur to star in my film, he   says that he will never fit into such an enterprise again in his life. I don’t think I’d fit in right now, and maybe I’d even hate to see my son in a movie like this. But at the time, I somehow didn’t think about it, it was all perceived as harmless hooliganism. I called the film “Problems around the bike”, because the problems of the characters Kalyagin and Muravyova were infinitely far from me, and we discussed them sitting at the bike “Start-highway”, bought in Kaunas. With this film, I was invited to the Ostranenie festival at the Bauhaus school in Dessau.”
