A multitude of animals brought together in a rhythmical sequence of photographs. The images blend together similar to the cross breeding of animals. An accumulation of bygone days, captured in photos, in which the animals are replaceable, but the same employees frequently reappear.

Years of studies and experiments on animals are reduced to a few images per second. The outcome of the research derived from the image or remains a mystery. Seeing is comparing; discovering similarities or differences, seeking for an ideal, gratification of curiosity, optimising utilisation.

‘Alles was Irgendwie Nützt’ is based on the historical glass plate photograph collection ‘Julius Kühn’ of the Martin-Luther University Halle-Wittenberg.

“Mom” tells the tale of a son’s tormented reality of two individuals mind twisted into an inseparable parent/child singular identity.

Either drunk or semi-ill overgrown son dully torments his mother and himself. They are an inseparable pair – the man is always with his mother, still snatches her skirt not being able to get back on his feet. He cries, calls, and rends one’s heart. It seems he has been cast off, but it’s out of the question, it seems he needs something, but he doesn’t, it seems something hurts him, but nothing does, it seems a danger approaches from the outside, but there is no danger. Pain, danger, fear, loneliness are all inside, everything is groundless, aimless, and it comes from tearfulness, swaddleness and nonage. «Mom, leave me alone, set me free, turn me out to hell, the hell with you, mom! », – rushes like waves of red, waves of blood, not allowing to see anything around oneself.

The hypnotic effect of d_time is conditioned by the acoustic solution of the sound of an unknown nature superimposed on a depiction which seems to exist independently, reproducing on the one hand fantastic images of the mind, and, on the other hand, the concealed landscape together with the “convex” Op-Art. It is a conscious image and sound bulge that also has some double definition: it is ultimately expressive and simultaneously symbolic. The symbol dissolves in color, in the spreading black and retreating white. This cacophony of sound and color, of sigh and image, is a time in the space of the horizon discovered by the artist.

Hands of various people use their smartphones. The displays don’t show any app – only the sensual movements of the hands count. Each pair of hands plays both roles from Michelangelo’s “Creation of Adam” at the Sistine Chapel: God father and Adam, whos fingers touch each other. Smartphones are the new saints to which we cling and who guide us on our ways – they are the amulets of our time.

This short version is for all sorts of screenings, from very small (e.g. in a smartphone) to larger monitors or cinema screens.
