Viktoria Begalskaya (Vika Begalska) was born in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine. She graduated from the State Academy for Design and Art in Kharkov, Ukraine and now lives and works in Moscow.
She works as a painter, performer and videoartist. Her works have been included in group exhibitions in various countries, such as 7 SINS at the Museum of Moderm Art in Ljubljana, Slovenia, Gender Troubles, which was a special project in the framework of the 1st Moscow Bienniale of Contemporary Art, From Russia with Love at Kunst Meran (Merano, Italy), In an Absolute Disorder: Russian Сontemporary Art. Kandinsky Prize (2007-2012) at Arts Santa Monica (Barcelona, Spain), Mir, Trud, Maj in Ostend, Belgium, and many more. As for solo exhibitions, she collaborated with such galleries as Light Cube Art Gallery (Ronse, Belgium), pop/off/art Gallery (Moscow, Russia), Janet Clayton Gallery (Sydney, Australia), Guelman Gallery (Kiev, Ukraine).
Viktoria also runs two projects, founded in 2013 and 2014, respectively: Teresa Creative Union of sex-workers and artists, in partnership with Alexandr Vilkin and Diana Portlend, and the Feminist Kitchen art platform, in partnership with Oksana Sarkisyan.
