Marin Kasimir
Marin Kasimir was born in 1957 in Munic, where he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts. Since 1982 he has lived and worked in Brussels, where he was awarded the Prix de la Jeune Peinture Belge in 1985.
Since 1989, Kasimir has added panoramic photography to his pictorial and sculptural vocabulary, as independent works or as friezes for public spaces. Several permanent installations testify to this: the CERIA/COOVI metro station in Brussels (2003), the “Puzzle Impossible” in Rennes, a public commission (2004), an integration in the St Georges car park in Lyon (2005), the “Frise en Fleur” in Brussels as part of the 101st Percent programme (2007), as well as other installations in Munich, Amsterdam, Bordeaux, St-Niklaas and Toulon (2018).
