Alek Borisov

An artist and philosopher. He was born in Tomsk (USSR), graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy of TSU, and studied the theory and practice of contemporary art. Since the late 1990s, he has been actively involved in the city’s independent art scene, organizing and conducting a number of art events and performances. In 2004, he moved to St. Petersburg, where he focused on photography, video art, and computer graphics, developing an aesthetics of visual noise based on his own concept of noise ontology. In the 2020s, he turned to the study of blockchain networks, the exploration of crypto art, and the development of a theory of crypto culture.
